Taylor Swift Stance In the Philippines they aren’t sure if their favorite singer will be taking a trip to Asia on her Eras Tour – so they throw in their own version of the wanted show.
Over the weekend, Quezon City Swifties packed the Ayala Malls Trinoma to watch Taylor Sheesh, local drag queen and Swift stan, perform a full set in the style of the headlining singer’s tour.
“To all my fellow Swifties, thank you so much for your energy last night,” Sheesh — whose username is @heymacyou — captioned a post about her performance.
The lip-synched presentation included everything from clothing changes for each era of the album—a blue suit for midnightloose dress for talk nowand two red pieces for red – to support dancers, confetti cannons, and merchandise.
The show was a complete recreation of Swift’s ballpark scene, and the setlist included songs like “Miss American and the Heartbreak Prince,” “You Need to Calm Down,” “Love Story,” “Willow,” “Don’t Blame Me,” and “Don’t Blame Me.” 22″ and “So Well (10-minute version).”
The audience can be heard singing the lyrics and dancing in several videos that went viral on TikTok over the weekend. The point of the show? Swift convinced to perform in their country with Swifties tagging their videos with #WeWantErasTourPhilipines. (Videos with this hashtag have had over 17 million views.)
The event was hosted by Swifties Philippines, a group of the singer’s fans in the country, who held a similar event in Manila at the end of March.
“Filipino Swifties, let’s show the world we can be louder!” The group tweeted a poster promoting the event. “Let us unite as one nation at this festive gathering of fans as we celebrate our love for Taylor and the extent of #WeWantErasTourPhilippines.”
The event echoes a similar drag queen show earlier this year in Peru after the iOA YouTube star threw a recreation of Rosalía Motomami World Tour When the artist did not include the South American country as part of her tour dates.
Swift on it now eras Journey across the US through August, and has not yet announced if she will be performing her tour in other countries.
