Smith told me that working with both Rosheuvel and Amarteifio is on Queen Charlotte A press tour—creating a variety of hair looks for television, magazine shoots and the red carpet—helped reaffirm her “mission” to promote the versatility of black hair. On the celebrity circuit, Smith became in demand for her work on natural, textured hair after discovering her first major client, Venus Williams. Smith worked from her Pinterest page, and went on to style her hair for Wimbledon. Smith, who began her 20-year career after establishing a salon in London, has since gone on to style the hair of Regina King, Danielle Didweller, Lashana Lynch and other black British celebrities such as Little Mix Lee-Anne Pinnock and presenters Clara Umpho and Julie Adenuga.
