Davido spoke with Billboard News and talked about some of his favorite Nigerian slangs!
Davido:
Yo, what’s up? It’s your son Davido and these are some Nigerian slang words. Let’s go!
The first is “Yawa,” which is YAWA, which means, like, “problem.” So, if someone hits me like, “Yo, yawa do,” it’s like, “Oh, there’s a problem.”
Another one is “Comot”, COMOT. Basically say like, “Come out,” but as you say it differently, broken English.
“Otilo.” Otilo means like, “It’s gone,” like, “It’s out of here,” like, “It’s lit.” Otello.
Those are some Nigerian slang. I hope you enjoyed it!
